About Coach: Raised in Honolulu, HI, Coach Manny brings over 25 years of international volleyball experience, both as a player and a coach. His volleyball journey began at the age of 11 when he stumbled upon a local church league while walking home from school. Intrigued by the sport, he joined and quickly fell in love with it, marking the beginning of a lifelong passion.

In addition to his volleyball expertise, Coach Manny has served in the Air Force for 19 years, where his service has taken him to over 40 countries. This unique blend of athletic and military experience has shaped his leadership style, emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and resilience. Through his travels and diverse experiences, he has gained a global perspective on the game, which he brings into his coaching philosophy.

Why Do I Coach? I coach this incredible sport because it has given me the opportunity to form lifelong friendships with people from all over the world, and I want to share the many lessons it’s taught me. Volleyball is more than just a game—it’s a platform for personal growth, character development, and the creation of unbreakable bonds. Through this sport, I’ve learned what it means to be a leader, how to be a supportive teammate, and the true value of trust and communication.

My hope is that every athlete I coach walks away with more than just improved skills on the court. I want them to gain confidence, resilience, and a deeper understanding of teamwork—lessons that will serve them far beyond the game and into every aspect of life.
